Pediatric Physicians Benefiting from DAX Copilot and Nuance® Dragon® Medical One AI-Powered Solutions

Updated: Aug 5

Our team recently attended the 2024 user conference, OP Engage in Las Vegas. Throughout the many breakout sessions, we were able to converse with users that have implemented our recommended AI-powered solutions in their workflow and talk more about the challenges they are facing. Many challenges were highlighted in those conversations centered around changes in insurance requirements, angst in delayed insurance submissions, and increased documentation. Another area of concern dealt with staffing, today and the risk in the future, as the number of residents focusing on pediatrics is decreasing every year. Practices need to find ways to do more with less staff, so it’s critical to find new technology that fits and grows with the changing needs of the patient and practice.

When medical practices find and make the decision to integrate AI into their EHR workflow, extreme potential exists for improving outcomes drastically. That is why our team was excited to introduce all Office Practicum EHR users at this year’s User Conference to the most recent addition to the generative AI toolbox for pediatric offices, DAX Copilot.

The AI-intelligent, paired solution allows pediatric clinicians to create a summary that is automatically and securely inserted into the EHR right from an in-office exam or via a telehealth patient conversation This document is then available in seconds for immediate review and finalization in the EHR. We are hearing from many physicians who are reporting that they are saving up to 40 minutes each day with this advanced documentation assistant.

Some Specifics from Physicians using DAX:

●       90% of clinicians say DAX is “easy to use”

●       85% report an “improved documentation experience”

AI-Intelligent DAX is working to:

➔    Identify patient patterns, during multi-conversations that take place in the exam room

➔    Decrease physician burnout by reducing time in administrative tasks

➔    Improve disease diagnosis across the healthcare industry, selecting the correct course of treatment, and examining clinical laboratory tests

➔    Ensure a faster and more accurate note for faster insurance reimbursement

With its next‑level architecture, it surrounds you and your staff with much needed support, from pre‑charting through your post‑encounter patient documentation.

DAX Copilot:

●      Records the patient encounter in the exam room

●      Takes the clinically relevant parts of the patient visit

●      Creates a note within seconds that is

●      Delivered directly into your EHR

It does NOT require an interface with your EHR and can be set up with a brief training session so you can conduct your own proof of concept. The automatic and complete note being delivered directly into your EHR will help your administrative support staff complete the cycle and submit a timely insurance document for faster payment.

Finding ways to adapt to new technology within your current workflow is always a challenge, but with the advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), we know it is worth pursuing. When medical practices make the decision to integrate AI into their EHR workflow, extreme potential exists for improving outcomes drastically. We appreciated the opportunity to introduce new Office Practicum EHR users to the most recent addition to the generative AI toolbox for pediatric offices, DAX Copilot. As a resource for your pediatric focused practice, our team of experienced cloud solution strategists are ready to answer your question on how you can reach your productivity goals with today’s MedTech tools.
